Dogma Mavrud
2023 · Dry barrel-aged red · Sakar, Thracian Lowlands · Bulgaria
Zaara EstateAppears in

Dogma places Mavrud in the warm, dry landscape of Sakar. The wine matures for 18 months in new French oak, adding depth and polish to the variety’s dark fruit and naturally firm structure. It represents the southeastern point of the Discover Bulgaria journey.
Tasting
Deep ruby colour. The nose combines ripe grape, blackberry and mulberry with fine herbs, spices and smoke. The palate is fresh and supple despite its concentration, with polished tannins and good length.
At the table
Roast lamb, beef, game, smoked meats, mushrooms, rich red-meat dishes and mature cheeses.
